Watch the Pitches: 15 AI-Powered Projects from Demo Day
In September in Washington, D.C., 15 organizations from the latest AI for Economic Opportunity Fund cohort took the stage at Demo Day, co-hosted with OpenAI at their headquarters. During their five-minute presentations, each team shared their progress and vision with attending funders, detailing the tools they are creating to improve economic mobility for workers, families and communities.
Their work spans a wide range of challenges For example, Accion is helping pharmacy professionals in Kenya grow their incomes, Moms First is connecting low-income parents to benefits they didn't know they qualified for and the National Domestic Workers Alliance is testing how AI can bring training and workplace support to millions of domestic workers.
This cohort was selected from more than 800 applications and supported with our partners OpenAI, the Annie E. Casey Foundation and Ballmer Group. Since the cohort kicked off in February, the teams have taken their projects from ideation and prototype to implementation and real-world, measurable impact.

Together, these organizations show what is possible when bold ideas are paired with rigorous support and early investment. Since 2023, the AI for Economic Opportunity Fund has invested more than $10 million across more than 50 organizations and projects, and each cohort deepens the understanding of how AI can expand economic mobility at scale.
