Our Impact
The GitLab Foundation aims to generate at least $100 in lifetime earnings for every $1 we invest. We track the impact of each investment—measuring both estimated potential at the outset and actual results over time—to ensure meaningful progress.
Estimated Impact
We anticipate that our work will impact at least 1,493,800 people increasing their incomes due to our investment; of these, 127,605 people will move from below to above the living wage threshold.*
On average, our grantees will help their clients increase their annual incomes by 91% or $9,554. Over a lifetime, the average earnings for those we impact will increase by $270,048 per person.

*These figures do not account for our EQOS systems change project, which has the potential to impact an additional 3,639,927 people (of which 320,756 people could earn above the living wage threshold) and to increase our impact on lifetime earnings to a staggering $680 for every dollar invested.
Actual Impact
Based on results, the GitLab Foundation has delivered $1.260M in increased lifetime earnings to over 220,485 people worldwide.
Our grantees have supported clients in boosting their annual incomes by an average of 79%, or $9,133. Over a lifetime, this translates to an average increase of $86,258 in earnings per person.
