The GitLab Foundation tracks the impact of every investment we make. We have just made our first grants and highlight here the estimated potential impact of these investments.
Estimated Impact
Based on the 35 grants awarded to date, we anticipate 889,835 people will receive increased incomes; and of these, 826,832 people will move from below to above the living wage threshold.*
On average, our grantees will help their clients increase their annual incomes by 82.74% or $13,829. Over a lifetime, the average earnings for those we impact will increase by $111,475 per person.

*These figures do not account for our EQOS systems change project, which has the potential to impact an additional 3,035,962 people (of which 219,983 people could earn above the living wage threshold) and to increase our impact on lifetime earnings to a staggering $1,707 for every dollar invested.
Our North Star
We estimate that for every dollar spent by the GitLab Foundation, we increase total lifetime earnings by $580* for low-income families around the world.
